Today the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation)  International unites 140 Country – Members and organizes nearly 60 annual Amateur and Professional International Events World Wide. Looking from the juridical point of view the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International is no doubt the Real World Bodybuilding Leader.

Crowning it‘s 50 years of  International Bodybuilding activities, the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F.  works on the Unique Global International Bodybuilding Project -  the „World Bodybuilding  Encyclopedia“ («Энциклопедия всемирного культуризма», “Pasaulio kultūrizmo enciklopedija”).

JOE WEIDER

In the fifth decade of the last century representing Canada JOE WEIDER (1919 – 2013), his Brother BEN WEIDER and DAN LURIE were the founders of the I.F.B.B.  (International Federation of Body Builders). As a bodybuilder JOE WEIDER participated twice: in 1938 he was at the second place at a Canada competition and in 1951 he was at the fifth place at the N.A.B.B.A. „Mr. Universe“.

PROHIBITED BODYBUILDING CONTESTS.

During the bodybuilding prohibition in the Socialist World (1973 – 1987) only few brave persons dared to organize competitions. There were only two regular International Bodybuilding Contests in all Socialist World: the „Amber Prix International“ (1968 – 2021, „Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарный приз») organized in Lithuania by DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and „Georg Tenno Memorial“ (1971 – 1989, «Мемориал Георга Тэнно») organizaed in Estonia by INNAR MARDO.

FIFTY FIVE YEARS HISTORY OF W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. AND I.F.B.B. RELATIONS.

WEIDER BROTHERS AND DSC. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS.

At the moment the W.F.F. - W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation)  is preparing to publish a historical article. The article will cover fifty years lasting relations of the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International (represented by the International President DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS) and the I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders), represented by the I.F.B.B. owners WEIDER brothers JOE and BEN.

Today looking through the time passed we see clearly the World bodybuilding history. As for long time the World was divided into two parts this history was developed both in the „West“ side and also in the so called „Socialist World“.  Speaking about the DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and the WEIDER brother‘s relations any can easy see the development of all historically traditional bodybuilding federations. Also we can see the aims of all federations, we can see the real work that was done by these federations on International level. Then there is no need to discuss „which federation is better“.

GET TO KNOW WORLD BODYBUILDING HISTORY. UNIQUE GLOBAL PROJECT - WORLD BODYBUILDING ENCYCLOPEDIA.

Today the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International unites 136 Country – Members and organizes nearly 60 anual Am and Pro International Events World Wide. Looking from the juridic point of view the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International is no doubt the Real World Bodybuilding Leader.

Crowning it‘s 50 years of  International Bodybuilding activities, the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F.)  works on the Unique Global International Bodybuilding Project -  the „World Bodybuilding  Encyclopedia“ («Энциклопедия всемирного культуризма»). 

Covering the period of the last Century only two Historical Bodybuilding  Country – Articles –Revues are left to prepere. That are Atricles on Russia and Lithuania. All other Countries that were influencing the International Sport during the last 120 years are already written bu us for the Encyclopedia.

The Head of the Encyclopedia working group is the President W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS.

Until now nobody even tried to work on such a huge International Project. To be frank, only few people can do it. There were attempts to name some previous works as „Encyclopedia“ too, but that were not Encyclopedias of Bodybuilding Sport in real (for example, as Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s „Encyclopedia“ was written about himself in person mostly). In real every Encyclopedia covers much wider things.

The  „World Bodybuilding  Encyclopedia“  is based on the fivety years collected Historic Archives of the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International and also on the Archivic Documents presented to us by the Owner and the President of W.A.B.B.A. (World Amateur Body Building Association) SERGE NUBRET (France),  the Heads of the UK Public Club N.A.B.B.A. (National Amateur Body Building Association) OSCAR HEIDENSTAM (England) and IVAN DUNBAR (Ireland), the Owners and Heads of the I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders)  Commercial Company  BEN WEIDER (Canada), PAUL CHUA (Singapore), ALEX BAUER (Austria), JOSE PARDO HIDALGO (Spain).

Starting with EUGENE SANDOW our „Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding“ covers the period of nearly 120 years time. It presents over 10 000 known International  Bodybuildings Sport Personalities who were very important for the World Bodybuilding Sport during the period of the last Century. All these 10 000 Bodybuilding Persons are representing all historically known traditional International Bodybuilding Federations. Comparing with the Bodybuilding Encyclopedia made by USA Bodybuilding Organizers in Internet, our „World Bodybuilding  Encyclopedia“ covers 90% wider information than the one of the USA.

All Athletes of these Federations of the last 120 years, who took high places at the Official Competitions as the World and Continent Am and Pro Championships, are in our Encyclopedia. All known International Officials and Organizers are also in our Encyclopedia as well.

Our  „World Bodybuilding  Encyclopedia“ will be published in various popular languages, including the Chinese language.

IMPORTANT WORLD BODYBUILDING FACTS.

We would like to underline that  the 2022 year was an extraordinary year for the World‘s bodybuilding. In 2022 the International Sport Society is celebrating 55-th anniversary of the World‘s Oldest Traditional Bodybuilding Contest  „Amber Prix International“ (международный турнир „Янтарный приз», “Gintarinis prizas”, 1968-2022). 

In 2022 the International Sport Society is celebrating the 125-th anniversary of the first bodybuilding contest ever (held in 1898 in England and Russia). Also in 1898 in England the first Bodybuilding „Health and Strength“  Magazine was started to issue and it is issued until now by ROY EDWARDS.

In 2022 the International Sport Society is celebrating the 95-th anniversary of female  fitness. It is connected with BRONE‘s DUBAR  regular trainings and participation in New York City in 1928. We are glad that the Americans started collecting additional historic  information about BRONE DUBAR for the coming „Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding“. BRONE DUBAR with her family emigrated from Lithuania to the USA right before the First World War.

In the beginning of July, 2022 during the Official Visit of the International President W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS to Poland the nearest future plans were discussed. In the beginning of September, 2022 the Official Meeting with the Highest Governmental Officials of the Republic Poland is planned. Also the possibility to organize in Poland the 2023 World Pro Championship was spoken over.
