R.I.P. MIKE MITCHELL

MIKE MITCHELL (1955 – 2021, Scotland) was a W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. Pro, „Mr. World“ and „Mr. Universe“ Champion.

In 2005 in Italy MIKE MITCHELL was awarded wit the „International John Grimek Award“.

In 2006 at the Headquarters of the Parliament Republic Lithuania MIKE MITCHELL was awarded with the „International W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. Honour Silver Medal“.

On July 24, 2021 MIKE MITCHELL suffered a heart attack and died while on his boat in Turkey with his family. Sleep in the lights. R.I.P..

USA bodybuilder MICHAEL GLASS (Mike Glass) participated only once. Ir was the 1971 A.A.U. „Mr. Califorhia“ where he was the Winner among juniors. Since 2004 until 2008 MICHAEL GLASS was the President W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. USA. In 2008 he organized a huge International W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. competition in Mexico. In 2005 MICHAEL GLASS was among the delegates to visit the Parliament Republic Lithuania where he was awarded with the International Diploma od Honour.

GUY MIERCZUK

Polish origin French bodybuilder GUY MIERCZUK (1936) started participating at bodybuilding contests in 1954. At that time he was representing French Bodybuilding Federation (Federation Francaise de Culture Physique). Since 1959 until 1962 GUY MIERCZUK was a National Champion of France. In 1959 and in 1961 he became the F.I.H.C. Europe Champion. Also in 1959 GUY MIERCZUK became the F.I.H.C. “Mr. Universe” Champion. The contest was held in Warszawa (Polish People’s Democratic Republic) together with World weightlifting championship.

ROBERT DURANTON

French bodybuilder and wrestler ROBERT DURANTON was four times national bodybuilding champion of France (1948, 1949, 1950, 1951). In 1951 at the N.A.B.B.A. «Mr. Universe“ ROBERT DURANTON was among twelve participants was in the second place. The champion was British REG PARK, the third was British OSCAR HEIDENSTAM and the fifth was JOE WEIDER from Canada.

A representative of the „Vilnius Bodybuilding School“ one of Lithuania bodybuilding pioneers EUGENE ZURCEV (Евгений Журцев, Eugenijus Žurcevas) started participating at 1968. A number of times he took high places at the „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, „Янтарный приз“) and „Georg Tenno memorial“ competitions. The best results of EUGENE ZURCEV were first places at the International Contests in kaunas city: „Two Cups“ and „Komsomol Cup“ („Dvi taurės“ and „Komjaunimo taurė“) in 1980 and 1981.

Since 1963 until 1984 USA bodybuilder JOHN DECOLA participated at twelve A.A.U. and I.F.B.B. competitions. In 1964 he was the A.A.U. junior “Mr. America” Winner. In 1969 JOHN DECOLA was the Over All I.F.B.B. “Mr. America” Champion and in 1984 he was the Over All A.A.U. senior “Mr. America” Winner.

A representative of the „Vilnius Bodybuilding School“ one of Lithuania bodybuilding pioneers JULIUS GRIEZHE (Julius Grieze) particiapted at two competitions. In 1971 he was on the second place in his category at the Lithuania National Championship and in 1972 in Estonia he became a category winner at the International contest „Georg Tenno Memorial“ („Мемориал Георга Тенно»).

USA bodybuilder RON THOMPSON (1943 – 2003) since 1969 until 1976 patricipated at the seventeen A.A.U., N.A.B.B.A.  and W.B.B.G. contests. In 1972 he bacame the Over All Winner of the A.A.U. „Mr. World“. In 1974 RON THOMPSON won the A.A.U. „Mr. America“ and at the N.A.B.B.A. „Mr. Universe“ was at the second place.

LEN SELL

British bodybuilder LEN SELL (1935) since 1954 until 1962 participated at twelve N.A.B.B.A. competitions. In British bodybuilding history along with REG PARK  and JOHN LEES he was third heavyweight bodybuilder. In 1958 at N.A.B.B.A. “Mr. Universe” LEN SELL became a category winner and in 1959 he won the Over All title. In 1961 LEN SELL won a category at the N.A.B.B.A. professional “Mr. Universe” and in 1962 he became the Over All Champion of this contest.

A representative of the „Vilnius Bodybuilding School“ one of Lithuania bodybuilding pioneers KONSTANTIN BELIKOV (Константин Беликов) was participatin since 1968 until 1971. In 1971 he was among the U.S.S.R. team at the International competitions in Warszawa and Rodom (Peoples Republic of Poland). His best result was the second place at the 1971 International contest in Kaunas (Lithuania). Then he lost to his team mate VIKTOR CHARKEVICH (Виктор Харкевич).
